The Amazon Kindle sounded like a good idea.  Like the iPod of books. being able to carry your entire music collection is great, so being able to carry your entire book collection should be equally awesome, right?

Not quite the same as the music collection since you probably read a few books at a time tops, but hey, A for effort.  You can buy books instantly, you can get daily papers, sounds great.  Just like books.  Then something happens to let you know that they haven’t quite figured out this whole digital ownership thing yet.  Because Amazon decided that they didn’t want to sell copies of George Orwell’s, ‘Animal Farm’ electronically anymore so what did they do?  The took it down from the store so you couldn’t buy it anymore.  Oh, and everyone who actually bought it?  Did they get grandfathered in?  Nah homey, if you had a copy of the book you got straight cyber-jacked.  Book gone, here is your $8.99 back.   These aren’t supposed to be licenses, these are purchases.  People aren’t renting these books, this isn’t the library, these are things that people supposedly own.

I guess all books are equal, but some are more equal than others.

The Kindle just rolled ebooks backwards by a few years.
