Chris Brown is hurting right now. Remember when this kid was on top?
He couldn’t lose. Do you remember Run it? He was killing it. He was dancing, smiling, on guest tracks, he was winning. I’m pretty sure he was the first guy with a skull tattooed on his hand to be a Doublemint spokesperson. Side note, I wonder if both of these dudes had to fight with ol girl to make sure they didn’t end up being the “Juicy Fruit” rep. But I digress.
Now everyone wants to make Chris out to be a thug. Don’t get me wrong, a dude who hits a woman is always wrong. Chris Brown has been paying the price for the last two years and he’s still paying the price. That is the downside of having young girls as your fans, their parents aren’t gonna buy them your album after you beat down America’s sweetheart. The album he put out last year completely bombed. I’m talking no sales. He was getting pissed off the stores weren’t even carrying it, much less selling it. After the Rihanna incident, no one could let Chris slide. Plus, everyone has a different picture of him in their heads right now.
My bad, wrong pic.
See , Chris can’t look mean if he wants to. You just can’t get mad at a dude in an aquamarine sweater and matching bowtie. Lake hit me up yesterday and said that he had indisputable evidence that Chris Brown is not a thug. No matter what you want to say about Chris Lake found the silver bullet. He finally found something to clean up his reputation. His evidence? The new song Yeah 3x.
And I’m pretty sure Lake hasn’t even seen the video yet.
Yeah, that isn’t helping his cause. Especially that salmon jacket and white shorts combo he’s rocking at the end.
I have to admit I actually felt bad for Chris when I heard Deuces for the first time. That was the first track where I knew Chris was screwed because prior to the Incident that song would have been #1 without question. This time it took a while and a hot ass remix for it to gain popularity. But even then, people are still trying to hide their kids and hide their wife because Chris Brown is taking smiley pictures with everybody out here.
Chris will be back to doing man on man R&B duets in no time. And rocking bowties.
Look, give the kid a break. He fell for a devil.
A sexy fiendish little devil. Damn.
At least he got a few wins in first.
Cut the kid a break. Deuces remix is hot. Run that shit.
-Brock

Wow I thought yal were gon be exaggerating. Wat in the hell?? I’m real mad. What was the video director thinking about with the storyboard for this one. “you love to drink? bring the bottles?” shouldn’t this be a club scene? there’s frickin kids dancing in the streets!!! do Chris know they can hear him talkin about poppin bottles. this is some real bull. Chris took 2 steps forward only to slide his ass back to where he was with me. UGh Hot Mess.
Um, it has been two years, but I would need to see more concerted effort to fight against violence against women before I’m ready to give him the benefit of doubt.
And deuces sounds like an early 90s song. Not necessarily a bad thing, but that was the first thought that popped in my mind when I heard the video.
As for that video, peachy said it best: Hot Mess.
Be like OJ…get a friend, a white Bronco and run the streets of LA…then he will be famous again.
Dat Deuces joint is kinda hot, and da remix is fresh. I got to admit Drake flipped it kinda nice, and 3000 did wat he do, even though I know he coulda come harder, but he probably just warming up for his album so its cool or should I say, ice cold. I also peeped da music video on youtube and got introduced to another certified dyme ass video model. CHeck it, {http://bit.ly/dCCQfn} …damn she bad, Ur welcome.
Yeah 3x look like some Gap commercial bullshit…nicca look like a dancing fool. I hope Rihanna put a hit out on this nicca’s legs.
The remix was coo. Ye and Drake did it right, 3G was so so.
The Yeah 3x was Gay10x.
Breezy needs a break. I mean he smacked a hoe and that ain’t coo in the PC world. But less be honest, while I don’t walk around committing acts of violence upon women, some of yoos need a good smang across the back of yo head erry once in a while.
Hiding behind that “you can’t hit a women” shit and acting a damn fool.
Juss wanna say again, I ain’t saying you should BEAT women, but lil bit of act right ain’t never hurt anyone.
For real? Now, I’m not about to say you can’t hit people based on gender, if a woman hits a man he is perfectly entitled to defend himself, but saying someone needs to be hit to make them act right makes you a piece of shit. Its not about being PC, its about being a decent human being.
@mia
If someone needs to be “hit to make them to act right” that doesn’t “make [me] a piece of shit”, it makes them a juvenile asshole.
In spite of that I try to take the high road, even if other people don’t really keep it classy. Point being that while I’m never going to smack a woman (or anyone really, it’s a terrible move from a practicality standpoint, never mind the morality of it), if a woman is in a man’s face talking all types of shit like she was another man, with her finger in his face etc…. and she ends on the wrong end of a quick backhand . . . . I have no sympathy for her. Too many women expect the reverence that is due a lady with out having to conduct themselves like one.
Unless they have actually touched you, hitting them makes you a bad person and takes you down to their level. They may also be juvenile assholes depending on the situation, but we’re adults here. Part of being an adult is controlling your temper and taking responsibility for your own actions. They didn’t make you hit them, you chose to hit them. Shit talking is irritating, sure, but if you deal with irritation by backhanding its source, you have issues. I’m not saying that if a someone is acting trashy that you have to pretend that he/she is a classy gentleman/lady, I’m just saying that smacking them to make them shut up is wrong, especially when you try to shift all the blame onto them.
Also, just for clarification, my main issue was the whole idea that certain women “need to be hit” in general, as if its for their own good and they should be grateful that jezus is around to correct their behavior for them.
As a rule I don’t manhandle women, except in cases where an unrelated female’s coochie attacks me first.
@Mia
Don’t forget though, dat when some women get angry, they go crazy and sometimes “act right” accidents can happen. It is possible for a female to get so heated that she runs into a man’s fist several times. All a man can do at dat point is follow through and then we get all da blame, like she didn’t literally bring it on herself. We just can’t win, can we.
lol.
Riddle me this kneegrows: If a woman acts all juvenile and is yelling at a dude, waving her finger in her face, and embarassing/disrespecting him with her WORDS, and that is justification for said dude to react in a violent manner to ‘punish’ or ‘correct’ her behavior; then doesn’t it follow that if a man disrespects a woman by cheating, lying, knocking up some other chick, that she is justified in reacting in a violent manner via destruction of his property? If you argue violence is an acceptable response to disrespect/embarrassment, then you take everything that comes with that. Unless, of course, you are a privileged asshat who believes that males are entitled to flit through life with unexamined privilege and the ability, nay, right, to exert social, verbal, and physical oppression on anyone they view as not equal to themselves.
Now see. I leave and all hell breaks loose. Last time I was here we were talking about Tummiscratch Beats and Turquoise Jeeps, and now we’re talking about domestic violence. By the way, Chris Brown was wearing a Turquoise sweater and bowtie, coincidence? I THINK NOT! CB to Turquoise Jeep in 2011. I hear Young Humma is gonna be on the next Deuces Remix. Except he won’t be talking about leaving, he’ll be talking about actually taking a shit.
What was I talking about?
@ mia
Nah, it’s not just women who need some “act right”. But I see how you got that from what I posted. Sorry for the confusion.
But I also see that you are one of those people who believe you can talk it out with anyone. I don’t want to jump out and call you one of the Them, but it seems to me that you have a distorted sense of how the world works. Maybe in your lil spot of the world people discuss the problem in an adult manner and progress. Problem is, that isn’t the norm. You think ole twon could have talked it out with the boy tryna rape his peeps? You can NOT reason with a fool!
@ Be
Yes I do believe that if a man is fackin off on his #1, pulling some ole bullshit and she catches him….destruction of his shit is understandable. A mans version of ‘act right” is different than a womans. We don’t decide to tear your shit up for revenge. Most men decide to hit when angry, man or woman,it’s a by product of testosterone. It does not make you less of a man or adult if you decide to slap a fool when said fool is acting foolish. Some people just don’t understand it any other way. Women get a lil more in depth. Burn some clothes, key a ride, slash tires…bust up a big screen. (Please note: all of these can result in a man deciding he needs to impart a lil act right upon you though.) That is why boys can fight and be friends later. The order has been determined. Women can’t. I have never met, seen or heard of two women getting busy, in any matter, physical or visceral and still being cool. Just doesn’t happen. A man just can’t hold a grudge like a woman.
@ Be, I know you’re talking to everyone, but for my part in it, I should clarify that I didn’t say a man was entitled to hit a woman in my scenario. I just said that I have no sympathy for women who think they’re untouchable, but don’t conform to any sort of standard of conduct that they implicitly expect a man to adhere to. You can’t act like a god damn fool and be surprised when someone else starts acting foolish right along with ya.
@ Jezus and Ian:
Still don’t agree with people getting physical over words. In the specific context of men hitting women who are angering/disrespecting them with WORDS, when you say that it’s ok for a man to express anger in a socially-constructed way to limit/prohibit/punish women for expressing anger in a socially-constructed way, you encourage kyriarchy and oppression. Not rules of ‘ak right’.
But I prefer to talk softly and carry a big stick. No need to let ignant folks disrupt the bougie.
@ Brock:
Breezy to Turquoise Jeep?! LOL I hope you aren’t a prophet…
I’ve been put through da wringer by some broads I dated in da past. In my mind I whooped their ass proper like, but in reality I always feel it’s better to just lightly restrain, run away, cool down at the strip club, and if she still around when i get back, break her off and then break it off. Dat has always been how I handled shit, sometimes it don’t work dat smoothly, but you catch my drift. Look, females may not want to admit it, but while they may be very strong in some ways, overall they are da physically weaker, more fragile sex, so as da man folk with the greater power, we have a greater responsibility. This may not be a popular way to look at it, but Itz datdude’s way.
So basically all of you actually act how Be On It and I think people should act. Good to know. And I don’t believe things can always be talked out. But when it gets to the point that it can’t be talked out, it is better to just leave the situation than fight. Fighting isn’t going to make the conflict go away, it’ll just make it worse.
And Ian, I was trying to avoid making this about gender. I agree that women shouldn’t walk around thinking they’re untouchable, but there’s a difference between something being unsurprising and something being the right thing to do.
@ Be
I walk softly and carry a BIG stick as well, but that’s another story.
I agree you shouldn’t smang someone for talking shat. But that is just me. Everyones line is different so sometimes a lil ack rite can get served up before you know.
If I remember right, ole RiRi did thangs wrong here.
1) She was checking through CHRIS BROWN’s phone. Was she really surprised to find a couple more 1′s or some broads that were DTF? I know he ain’t much today, but he was C. Breezy at that point. Guess she has a pretty high opinion of herself.
2) Didn’t she whap his ass first? I mean she passed on his ass for a couple msgs on his berry. Then was surprised when he broke out the thunder and lightning. HA! She was clearly wrong, yet Breezy is the one with no sales the last two years. Ain’t that a bitch…
I’m buying all C. Breezys shit from here on out.
* know it
* couple thangs wrong
Damn it
damn summers,Itz n Jezus! u niccas be killing me right now. but i totally gree wit zus complizzle. 4 a dyme piece like Riri to ba smanged by sweet Brizzy, heavy shit had to be gown south! n then he gats no sales now?! cmon meeein! we can all say that dating Ri was C’z biggest mistake of his life. for cryn out loud she turned him into a sof thug!
knocking someone’s head against the dashboard until they have horns on their foreheads (literally)? beating someone who weighs less than you and does not have a weapon, so badly that blood is all over her dress and then LEAVING her in the street crying, to be raped or attacked by anyone in that kind of state?
No, Im sorry. that’s a punk move. I dont even care what she said or whose phone she checked, thats a punk move. Not saying what someone does should be held against them for the rest of their lives, but that was whack. And as a woman, I dont see CB the same way..maybe if he pulled a mike vick and DEDICATED his time to talking about the issue and really showed over time true growth. but he hasn’t, he comes off more like a dude whose mad that he had to suffer any consequences at all, and is mad at everyone who DARES bring up the subject. Like Robert Downy JR. won’t be remembered for the rest of his days for being a crackhead.
And I dont understand this ‘push’ to make everyone all of a sudden say ‘aww, it wasn’t that bad’ that seems to be happening, specifically in the Black community.
